About us

Who are we?

Peabody Youth Girls Lacrosse strives to introduce and teach the game of girls lacrosse in a safe and fun environment. We offer opportunities for girls in K-8th grade from Peabody and other towns that do not have programs of their own. We encourage girls, regardless of skill level, to play lacrosse at any age.

There are five different divisions formed by grade: Kindergarten, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. Our Kindergarten program is all about introducing the game of lacrosse through a fun and educational training session over the course of a couple months. The traditional travel league for grades 1-8 plays games on Sundays in the spring. For girls looking for an additional competitive challenge, we participate in the Friday night (& occasional Saturday) MYL Select League. These are tryout-based teams that compete at the 5/6 and 7/8 grade level. Players who qualify for this team also known as Girls Tanner Select or "GTS"– and choose to play – are also required to play in the MYL games on Sunday.

Tanner Pride!

Our program has successfully prepared hundreds of girls for high school play at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Bishop Fenwick, Essex Tech, Austin Prep to name a few schools. Many players have also continued on to play at the collegiate level at all levels. Moreover, we have been fortunate to have granted thousands of dollars in scholarships to our former players ---- many of whom have volunteered in our program clinics, tryouts, skills & drills sessions to pass along their learned skills and passion for lacrosse to our younger players. Some of our former players include an All American honoree, High School and Collegiate Hall of Fame inductees. Most importantly, we teach our kids to be productive members of our community and to always give back when you can.

Parent & Player Commitment... It matters!

Lacrosse is a difficult sport to learn! It requires a lot of hand-eye coordination and a lot of practice to acquire the skills needed to be successful on the field.  Lacrosse is exciting, fast paced and often very high scoring. The game changes tremendously as the girls get older and skilled. We know that these girls are all very busy with other sports and activities which we strongly encourage. With that said, we want them to learn and love this fun game, but they need to show up to practices and games in order to really understand both the complicated rules and to put in the time necessary to improve their skills.  We can’t help them improve if they don’t show up!  Outside of club lacrosse this is our only season and we ask that, as a family, you try to make a commitment to our spring season of lacrosse.

Thank you-

We look forward to a great season!
